Setup

Connect MarioHR to Ashby

The integration is bi-directional, you'll exchange API keys between MarioHR and Ashby. Your MarioHR account manager will provide you with the MarioHR API key. Then follow these steps to complete the connection from Ashby's side.

Open Integrations in Ashby

Click Admin in the top toolbar, then find Integrations in the bottom-left corner of the left sidebar. In the dropdown menu, click Integrations again.

Find MarioHR

Search for MarioHR in the integrations list.

Enter the MarioHR API key

Paste the API key provided by your MarioHR account manager into the API key field.

Generate an Ashby API key for MarioHR

Click on Ashby API Key, type marioHR in the name field, then click Create new API Key "marioHR".

Send the key to your account manager

Copy the newly generated Ashby API key and send it to your MarioHR account manager. That's it, you're connected!

Usage

Sending assessments

Once connected, there are two ways to send MarioHR assessments to candidates from Ashby.

touch_app Manual assessment

Create a new activity for a candidate and select MarioHR in the assessments section at the bottom. Choose the assessment you'd like to send and click Start Assessment. The candidate will automatically receive the assessment email. Once they finish, results appear directly in the Ashby activity you created.

bolt Automated assessment

Trigger assessments automatically when a candidate moves to a specific pipeline stage. Here's how to set it up:

Create an assessment stage

In the interview plan for a role, add a new stage and name it MarioHR Assessment.

Add a MarioHR activity

Add a MarioHR activity to the stage, it's usually at the bottom under Integrations.

Enable automation

Go to the activity, click Modify, then Edit, and navigate to the Automations tab. Check the box for Automate on Stage Entry.

Done!

When you move a candidate to the MarioHR Assessment stage, the assessment is automatically created and sent to the candidate.

Customize

Email messages & assessments

You can customize the email message candidates receive and configure which assessments are available. Talk to your MarioHR account manager to set these up for your team.
